in studio, in a matrix, the top row and second row appear different (notice the size and offset).

This topic is related to this one: Preview matrix rows 2..n don’t implement top/bottom borders, so however, you might provide a fixed value for the height (400px in your case) as a solution.
Similarly, you can provide a fixed value for the width.
Every time you increase or decrease the values, the studio will automatically display the changes to see if there is a space (horizontally and vertically) between each item.
this is a separate issue. the other one was when the app is running.
this is about how in the design environment (studio) when viewing a matrix, the cells are not rendered the same. look at row 2. since it’s the design environment, the content of the cells are all the same, so one would expect the cells to appear the same, no matter what.
